Jerez

The day dawned bright and sunny, and we rose early for a trip to Jerez, sherry country

After a few delays ( that I am not allowed to mention) we set off at around 10.30. One hour later we arrived and found a convenient underground parking spot. As an added bonus it had a toilet for those amongst us who hadn't needed it a few miles down the road but were now desperate (not allowed to say who). We creamed  up in a nice square, just outside the Alcazar, convenient once again.

We paid our 5€ to enter and had a lovely look round. It was very hot so we jumped between the shady bits.

Then it was lunchtime and we found a wonderful, great value, little restaurant just outside the cathedral. The lady spoke no English but ushered us inside to take advantage of the air con. Some of us had paella, and for the first time in my life I tried a cockle. It was OK, much to my amazement. I won't be buying a full bag anytime soon though.

We also had some lovely puds.

We wandered around the streets for a bit

Then headed back. We had some bread and cheese for tea then walked along the beach to the lighthouse on cape trafalgar to watch a wonderful sunset
