After the hard graft that was California, we had booked a big house for a Walters family and friends trip to Zahora in Spain, and I wanted to just chill. The two days before had been spent in London at the world athletics championships, where we didn't even see a sniff of a GB medal
We drove back from London after the athletics and arrived home at around 3am. At 11.30am Ian, Kathy, Vicky and I left for Manchester airport, picking up mum on the way. Woodhead was very busy with lorries, it turns out that the M62 was completely closed (again). We checked in very efficiently with Jet2, no Thompsonesque queues here, before finding the executive Escape lounge. We had booked this to chill and avoid the great unwashed. We ate and drank to our hearts content, rounding it off with a G and T. (And a soft drink for the driver)
Soon we were fighting our way through the masses before boarding the very comfy Jet2 plane. We arrived 15mins early and were waved through customs with nary a glance at the passports. Even the car hire desk had no queue, and we were soon in the Big Beast on the way to the Hotel Malaga Picasso.
It's a really nice hotel, lovely rooms, lovely pool, pleasant staff. We dumped the luggage before ordering beer and Mojitos
It was really pleasant sat outside in the warmth under the stars. Welcome to Spain.
It sounds a great start to yet another holiday. All you need to do now is to relax.
